The North Texas Advanced Manufacturing Internship Program, developed by the North Texas Chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA), connects high school students with paid internships at local precision machining companies.
Designed specifically for schools with Precision Machining, CNC Machining, and Advanced Manufacturing programs, this industry-led initiative extends classroom learning into real manufacturing environments while helping students prepare for successful careers.

Through the North Texas Advanced Manufacturing Internship Program, students apply the skills they learn in school while working alongside experienced manufacturing professionals using modern CNC equipment and industry best practices.

High-Quality Industry Training
One of the greatest advantages of partnering with North Texas NTMA is that students receive structured, hands-on training in a real manufacturing environment.
Each participating company assigns an experienced employee to serve as the student's mentor throughout the internship. Students receive individualized guidance while gaining exposure to manufacturing operations, CNC machining, quality inspection, workplace safety, production processes, and professional expectations.
This level of one-on-one industry mentoring provides experiences that cannot be fully replicated in a classroom and reinforces the technical skills students are learning in school.
A Natural Extension of Your Program
The North Texas Advanced Manufacturing Internship Program is designed to complement your existing curriculum—not replace it.
Students remain enrolled in your machining or advanced manufacturing program while applying classroom concepts in a professional manufacturing environment.
For schools offering a Practicum in Manufacturing or similar work-based learning courses, the internship program provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain supervised industry experience while earning a paycheck.
Students interested in pursuing a career as a CNC machinist may also choose to participate in the optional NTMA-U CNC Machinist Pre-Apprenticeship Program, which provides an accelerated pathway to a future Registered Apprenticeship after graduation.
